http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510816 Summary: Yast Expert Partitioner Currently does Not Support Editing of Disk Info in Respect to Disk Label Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 By Opening Yast>System>Partitioner we see under the headings of Hard Disks. The following would also apply to the overview of RAID,Volume Management,Crypt Files, Device Mapper, Unused Devices and Settings. It is of note that the settings tab permits the mounting of partitions by the variable fields which apply only to partitions where FSTAB options are used. Because the whole device information fields are not able to be assigned/changed we cannot mount a device by this variable. The settings option therefore, can only offer the ability to mount partitions by variables and not whole devices by variables. The overview of any Physical Device in respect to a Hard Disk offers many details. Some of these details are Physical Disk Attributes and some are details which only apply to partitions rather the the whole device. There appears NO facility to Change or Edit the following fields in the Overview Tab. The fields which should be able to be edited are the only fields I have copied from a typical Overview Tab below. Other possible reasons why some fields may be blank is that the fields below cannot be inherited from conflicting partition options in FSTAB as these apply to the partition and Not the physical device. Device: Used By: Hard Disk: Disk Label: MSDOS Fibre Channel: WWPN: Port ID: LUN End of Fields. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
