tap:qcow2 is working fine in SLE11. We plan to sync 11.1 and SLE11 Xen code
when doing first SLE11 maintenance update so fix for qcow2 will be available
then.
As for tap:vmdk, I was unable to get it to work on SLE11. I took an existing
raw image and converted to vmdk
xen33: # qemu-img convert -f raw -O vmdk disk0 disk0.vmdk
and then attached the disk to dom0
xen33: # xm block-attach 0 tap:vmdk:/disk0 xvdp r
This worked but partitions on the disk were not recognized and there were
several read failures in /var/log/xen/tapdisk-ioemu.log. /var/log/messages
also contains a lot of IO errors to xvdp.
Kong, since you are newly minted tapdisk and friends maintainer, can you take a
look at this bug? Seems like it is an interesting one.
