http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=496505 Summary: support hybrid initrd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: coolo@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=286856) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=286856) cow.diff hybrid ISOs are the latest hype. These are patched ISOs that contain a MBR, so they can be used as .raw files on a stick. Our isolinux does not yet support it, but will soon. So I emulated it by running syslinux over our factory ISOs (copied to vfat of course). The problem there is, the ioslinux initrd does not care to check for USB devices. I tried some patch here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=cow.diff&package=kiwi&... This almost works - the only catch is that searchBIOSBootDevice will abort if it's booting from CD-ROM, I have no idea how to come around that beside either making it non-fatal and catch the error in oemboot only. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
