The network connection has been verified and is okay. Things that work fine: - Login on socks server and download direct with sftp - Putty SFTP on Windows over SOCKS - Download large files with curl over HTTP using SOCKS xample: socksify scp remotehost:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.01 file_100mb 100% 100MB 16.7MB/s 00:06 socksify scp remotehost:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.02 socksify scp www.nies.ch:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.02 file_100mb 0% 0 0.0KB/s --:-- ETA^CKilled by signal 2. socksify scp remotehost:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.03 file_100mb 0% 0 0.0KB/s --:-- ETA^CKilled by signal 2. socksify scp remotehost:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.04 file_100mb 31% 31MB 17.3MB/s 00:03 ETA^CKilled by signal 2. socksify scp remotehost:/var/tmp/file_100mb /var/tmp/file_100mb.05 file_100mb 17% 18MB 17.7MB/s 00:04 ETA^CKilled by signal 2. bernd@adnws001:~> ls -al /var/tmp/file_* -rw-r--r-- 1 bernd adnstaff 104857600 2009-04-03 12:11 /var/tmp/file_100mb.01 -rw-r--r-- 1 bernd adnstaff 17006592 2009-04-03 12:11 /var/tmp/file_100mb.02 -rw-r--r-- 1 bernd adnstaff 19120128 2009-04-03 12:12 /var/tmp/file_100mb.03 -rw-r--r-- 1 bernd adnstaff 46907392 2009-04-03 12:13 /var/tmp/file_100mb.04 -rw-r--r-- 1 bernd adnstaff 36519936 2009-04-03 12:13 /var/tmp/file_100mb.05 SOCKS SERVER ------------ SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (x86_64) VERSION = 9 PATCHLEVEL = 3 Linux adnprox01 2.6.5-7.244-smp #1 SMP Mon Dec 12 18:32:25 UTC 2005 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux /opt/dante/1.1.19/sbin/sockd -v sockd: dante v1.1.19 cat /etc/sockd.conf logoutput: /var/log/socks internal: eth0 port=1080 external: eth1 clientmethod: none method: none connecttimeout: 50 iotimeout: 0 client pass { from: 192.168.0.0/16 port 1-65535 to: 0.0.0.0/0 log: connect disconnect error iooperation } client block { from: 0.0.0.0/0 to: 127.0.0.0/8 log: connect error } pass { from: 192.168.0.0/16 port 1-65535 to: 0.0.0.0/0 protocol: tcp udp log: connect disconnect error iooperation } block { from: 0.0.0.0/0 to: 127.0.0.0/8 log: connect error } block { from: 0.0.0.0/0 to: 0.0.0.0/0 command: bind log: connect error } block { from: 0.0.0.0/0 to: 192.168.0.0/16 log: connect error } SOCKS CLIENT ------------ openSUSE 11.0 (i586) VERSION = 11.0 Linux adnws001 2.6.25.20-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2008-12-12 20:30:38 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux dante-1.1.19-112.1 ssh -V OpenSSH_5.0p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8g 19 Oct 2007 cat /etc/socks.conf debug: 1 logoutput: syslog resolveprotocol: udp route { from: 0.0.0.0/0 to: 0.0.0.0/0 via: 10.0.0.16 port = 1080 protocol: tcp udp proxyprotocol: socks_v5 method: none } Even worse: OpenSSH 4.1p1 on SLES 9 SP4. There cause already 1MB problems. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Suse 11.0 with latest patches 2. Setup socks server and /etc/socks.conf 3. Generate large files (>100MB) on remote host 4. Download large files via SOCKS using sftp/scp 5. Download large files via SOCKS using curl/ftp Actual Results: Download with sftp/scp over SOCKS stalls or gets truncated files Download with curl over SOCKS works fine -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
