https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=487205 Summary: NetworkManager - nm-connection-editor should recommend or require PolicyKit-gnome Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rkrell@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.2; Linux) KHTML/4.2.1 (like Gecko) SUSE I use NetworkManager for system-wide connections available to all users. Without PolicyKit-gnome installed it is not possible to create a system-wide wired connection in nm-connection-editor. On pushing Apply there is a error message written on the console, something like The name org.freedesktop.... was not provided by any .service files This happened while the nm-connection-editor tool tries to launch some sudo tool. Therefore the package NetworkManager should require or recommend the package PolicyKit-gnome (which is currently missing).
