Apparently the chip produces an imperfect signal (which actually could even get worse by the cable and/or adapters), and the monitor is pretty picky. We had this several times in the radeonhd driver as well, when the electrical values weren't right for the exact card. What's happening is that the chip produces a high speed bit stream bbbbbbbbggggggggrrrrrrrr, of which the least significant green bit under some circumstances (position on stream, previous bits, etc.) gets delayed a bit too much and is interpreted by the monitor as the highest significant red bit. Thus you see red/yellow/black pixels where they shouldn't be. Of course this was a gross oversimplification of the actual process (8-10 bit coding, separate lines, etc), but you get the picture (actually, you don't ;) sorry for the phun). This is something only the upstream developers can resolve. Hope this helps you understand what's going on. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
