Canon provides linux drivers for this device. Installation is with 2deb or rpm packages for printer and scanner. In Suse 11.1 the printer installs without problem. The scanner cannot install. Trying to install the first package returns: error:Failed dependencies libusb is needed by scangearmp-common-1.10-1.i386.rpm libusb is present in /usr/lib I installed other libusb I found in the software manager via Yast without result In the Suse forums there are other people with Canon Pixma MP having the same problem. See thread in the hardware section:CanonMP540 and libusb On my laptop I have Suse 10.2 installed and I can install the Canon MP520 scanner (and printer)drivers without any problem.No failed dependencies So the problem is Suse 11.1 related.
