I do exactly nothing as by default the Multi_key is mapped to Shift+Ctrl-L

KeyPress event, serial 35, synthetic NO, window 0x3a00001,
root 0x1a6, subw 0x0, time 513593740, (255,836), root:(1943,892),
state 0x10, keycode 50 (keysym 0xffe1, Shift_L), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

and using this key within emacs is transparent as emacs does not
notice about Multi_key but only about the result, e.g.

Multi_key s s

results in `ß' the german `sharp s'. The `setxkbmap -v' shows:

Trying to build keymap using the following components:
keycodes: xfree86+aliases(qwertz)
types: complete
compat: complete
symbols: pc+de(nodeadkeys)
geometry: pc(pc105)

seems to be OK. Does the sequence Shift + Ctrl-L result into
a Multi_key for you?
