A 3D game called "neverputt" works without problems without kde4 compositing enabled, but when compositing is on the graphics lost their textures. It seems that 3D apps are affected in different ways.

Unfortunately with intel driver the performance of 3D apps is rather bad when desktop effects of KDE4/Gnome are enabled.
