I am talking about formatting disk, destructive operation. So if user agreed on
formatting, you cannot "destroy" data in any more degree.

test -> format disk (partition actually) -> use partition

For test, you can use badblocks, it is quite enough.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I don't see non-trivial task here, badblocks is ready
for use (it is open-source).


Another issue, I am not a trusted member so I cannot do anything in FATE.
