Regarding comment #20 do you mean that the bug is fixed for you?

The commands in comment #16 work fine. I indented so word wrapping due to
bugzilla would be more obvious. The repo name "banshee-rc2" is the last
argument of the zypper ar command.

Here's a safer copy/paste version:

sudo zypper ar \

After that the rest of the commands should be fine. And yes, the rpm
--changelog query is good. However, I just pushed more fixes to the repo, so
you might want to update. The fixes I just pushed are unrelated to this bug
however. If you update, requery the changelog again, and verify it looks like

aaron@giggidy:~$ rpm -q --changelog banshee-1 | head -n1
* Sun Jan 11 2009 abockover@xxxxxxxxxx

Also, "critical" applies to the severity of the bug against Banshee. It is
"critical" because it yields complete loss of functionality of Banshee. So if
playing music is your number one priority, this is a pretty "critical" bug.

And finally, if you are running from a terminal, you should *not* pass
--redirect-log. This is done in the .desktop files so that when Banshee is
started from a GUI, the log file will be redirected to ~/.config/banshee-1/log.
