Sorry for delay.
The software I need is a custom accounting + agenda, based on progress 6.2
runtime, which is not available for Linux but SCO.
I started (to pay for) this developement 10 years ago (when SuSE supported
ibcs) and now finally works perfectly.
Now I have invested thousands of euros and I need to continue using it, because
there is no replacement for it.
I live in Ibiza, and this is a widely used software in my area: rent-a-cars,
colleges, discos, restaurants, supermarkets, diy stores...
All these small business (more than 50) are running similar software over
SuSE/openSUSE servers.
Running SCO binaries is possible thanks to linux-abi project
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-abi), which provides necessary modules.
These modules are compiled out the kernel tree, but fail to load if uts_sem is
not exported.
openSUSE kernel provides some other exports non presents in vanilla kernel to
allow some "non supported" projects to be compiled without patching the kernel
(reiser4 or btrfs, for example).
Thanks for your interest.
