I just tried basic sanity check of the debuginfos -- started kopete and
attached gdb to the /usr/bin/kopete process:

(gdb) bt
#0 0xffffe430 in __kernel_vsyscall ()
#1 0xb5d9c677 in poll () from /lib/libc.so.6
#2 0xb5c3bef2 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
#3 0xb5c3c221 in g_main_context_iteration () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
#4 0xb7efffb8 in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents (this=0x80c0238, flags={i
= -1073746984}) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:319
#5 0xb6134785 in QGuiEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents (this=0x80c0238,
flags={i = -1073746936}) at kernel/qguieventdispatcher_glib.cpp:198
#6 0xb7ed401a in QEventLoop::processEvents (this=0xbfffec80, flags={i =
-1073746872}) at kernel/qeventloop.cpp:143
#7 0xb7ed41da in QEventLoop::exec (this=0xbfffec80, flags={i = -1073746808})
at kernel/qeventloop.cpp:194
#8 0xb7ed6895 in QCoreApplication::exec () at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:845
#9 0xb609b777 in QApplication::exec () at kernel/qapplication.cpp:3331
#10 0x08088baf in main (argc=1, argv=0xbffff0d4) at
/usr/src/debug/kdenetwork-4.1.3/kopete/kopete/main.cpp:102
(gdb)

This looks like the debuginfo data was loaded successfully. Is it possible that
the problem of creating the backtrace is something broken in the KDE crash
handler? Is there any chance to get a valid backtrace with gdb (I'm thinking of
having gdb attached to my kopete for few days until it crashes)?
