The wireless card is completely "inside" the machine (which seems common these
days). I can disable it (together with bluetooth) via some hot key, and I
actually did, because I had no wireless network when I experienced the problem.
Only for hwinfo I had turned it on.

I could build a kernel, but I haven't decided whether to try 11.1 first.
