https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463434 Summary: s2ram cannot switch to text console when using pm- suspend Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: pitkali@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- On Thinkpad T60 with ATI X1400, when using both fglrx (8-12) and vesafb resume from suspend to RAM hangs - nothing works, nothing is visible on screen, only hard reset helps. /var/log/pm-suspend.log ends on s2ram invocation. I observed that: - When s2ram is issued manually either from VT1 or from konsole in KDE, it always successfully switches console to text mode before suspending. Then resume works correctly. - When using pm-suspend from konsole, or clicking Sleep button from battery plasma, or calling org.kde.Solid.PowerManagement.Suspend() through dbus, console is not always switched. It seems that sometimes it succeeds, but often does not. I do not know what triggers that, but I observed that directly after booting and logging into KDE it seems to never work. Workaround: Adding script /etc/pm/sleep.d/00text that itself switches consoles between VT7 and VT1 using /bin/chvt makes resume work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
