--- Comment #10 from Dwain Sims
The hpt366 IDE driver crashes: Pid: 435, comm: modprobe Not tainted (2.6.27.5-2-default #1) EIP: 0060:[<f9566519>] EFLAGS: 00010286 CPU: 0 EIP is at hpt3xx_maskproc+0x19/0xb9 [hpt366] EAX: 00000000 EBX: f706d800 ECX: f789745c EDX: 00000000 ESI: 00000000 EDI: f706d850 EBP: f95b14a0 ESP: f6c1dbd4
Looks like a broken IDE driver, which may need to be fixed, as long as we ship that stuff.
(I expect with the RC release, the IDE drivers are not used, and the libata drivers will work.)
I would be careful here. This HPT is the HighPoint ATA drivers. This particular motherboard has this HighPoint RAID controller, and th HPT driver is the only thing that I have seen that works with it. For my own selfish reasons I would like this to continue to work. I fear that the standad libata drivers may not work with this HighPoint chipset.
