This kind of problem is not easy to debug. Therefore please verify carefully
that:
- you are properly typing
- the keyboard (hardware) is working properly
To be honest this looks to me like a bad keyboard. Not necessarily broken but
bad designed. Do you have another OS on that system for comparison?
As soon as you can exclude the above:
- Where does it happen?
- just in X (graphical surface) or also on a text console (Strg+Alt+F2)?
- when in X: in all applications or just in some
(e.g. xterm/konsole/gnome-terminal whatever)
Also does every keypress generate 2 interrupts (down and up)? To check that
call
watch -n 1 cat /proc/interrupts
and check the numbers in the line with i8042.
Could you also try with 11.1 Beta? Beta4 is current and Beta5 should be
available this week.
