https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442666 Summary: yast dont find my lvm volumes Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta4 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: cba014@web.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=250631) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=250631) saved y2logs Description: openSUSE-11.1-beta4-x86_64 doesn't find the VGs and LVs on new installation. But after doing ... vgscan --mknodes Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while... /dev/sdc: open failed: No medium found /dev/sdd: open failed: No medium found /dev/sde: open failed: No medium found /dev/sdf: open failed: No medium found Found volume group "system" using metadata type lvm2 / # vgchange -a y 4 logical volume(s) in volume group "system" now active / # date Fri Nov 7 00:20:18 CET 2008 .. in another window, YaST found the LVs and could read /etc/fstab. I changed the format flag on "/boot", "/" and "swap" and installation works "fine" than (except for boot failure afterwards, but that seems similar like Bug 439103). My interpretation of the logs: yast did "vgscan/vgchange" at first and "dmraid" afterwards. The normal boot mechanism is the other way around. Same in openSUSE 11.0! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
