I never had 2.4.1, just the 2.4.0 that came on the installation ISO I
downloaded.
I have had to recreate my normal user from scratch several times while I was
investigating https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403727 and did not
notice any different behaviour then
I just tried your fresh user trick, and it all worked as expected. I also
copied the .0003 directory from there to mine (chown, of course) and my normal
login is now clear of the problems in this bug and in bug 439569
Thanks for checking it. I guess this is 'one of those things'.
Out of interest, if I wanted to configure OOo to be broken as I described how
would I go about it? I've trawled the setup pages and can't see anything.
