https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=438498 Summary: KDE LiveCD: incorrect network detection during 2nd stage of installation Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- VirtualBox 2.0.2, network PCnet-FAST III (NAT). KDE LiveCD starts and detects network without any problem, long checking, etc. I can simply start Konqueror and download anything. However in the second stage of installation (when bare system is booted from HDD) there are problem with network detection: a) it is way longer than in case of live system b) the error message says "network is not running" where the correct message should be "network is not detected" (never state facts about outer world, yet another principle of writing software), it annoys unnecessarily the user c) well, it should be detected -- since live system detected it, bare system from HDD should do it too, network detection routines should be the same -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
