checking the acroread startup script, I found that "pwd" returns different
results:
kolb@zorro:~> pwd
/home/kolb
kolb@zorro:~> /bin/pwd
kolb
kolb@zorro:~> which pwd
/bin/pwd
kolb@zorro:~> whereis pwd
pwd: /bin/pwd /usr/include/pwd.h /usr/share/man/man1/pwd.1.gz
/usr/share/man/mann/pwd.n.gz /usr/share/man/man1p/pwd.1p.gz
kolb@zorro:~> alias |grep pwd
kolb@zorro:~> > type pwd
pwd is a shell builtin
kolb@zorro:~> echo $SHELL
/bin/bash
kolb@zorro:~> tcsh -c pwd
kolb
Does this mean, that the shell builtin returns the correct path, and the
programm (and the tcsh) returns a wrong result???
Or, is there a bug in the acroread startup script?
I use (recent) autofs and yp. This home directory is at the local(!) host.
Users with their home directory located at a remote nfs server, get identical
results with "pwd" and "/bin/pwd".
