You're really trying to position the monitors top/bottom. For this 'Virtual 3840 1200' (which is a workaround to make RANDR 1.2 possible, since available framebuffer size cannot be changed on-the-run) is not sufficient. Remove these lines from your xorg.conf. I consider this a corner case. Seriously.
