On completion, due to the fact that some of these packages were important to yast, I could no longer start yast in order to refresh the factory repository, verify system and complete the installation with the missing packages. I suggest that, if yast detects an error during installation that is ignored or aborted, a message box appears at the end giving the option to return to sw_single or exit as was the case in suse 11.0. The message box could read "Your installation has not completed successfully. Retry, Exit" and on retry a forced refresh would be a good feature.
