Three images taken. 1St is status on boot. Second is CPU increased. Third is
maxed_out CPU. Memory allocated to cache and buffers increases marginally. At
max CPU there appears to be limit on how much RAM can be moved to cache and
buffers.
Also last figure shows current memory allocated after previous max_out CPU has
been terminated for over 20seconds.
My issue is the dynamic allocation of RAM NOT the kernels ability to see all of
it. Dynamic allocation is very sluggish > and very very very poorly < after CPU
load has been decreased.
The test is more starkly evident on say a P4 with 2GIG than an X_64 Dual Core
with 2 GIG.
I really wanted to provide a better test environment as I have the one thing
your are short of...that is Time.
Advise if you require more information.
