I completely agree with Pavel here. This partitioner is overly complicated. I
personally found the old partitioner very intuitive, but I can see how some
people were unimpressed by it. The new partitioner basically takes the previous
and completely unchanged one screen partitioner, hides it away under the hard
disk overview then adds on a bunch of extra fluff for individual partitions.
Everything in this new partitioner is duplicated because the old partitioner is
still there in all its gnarly old glory.
Everything except adding a new partition and seeing how much space is being
used in one glance. For that, you need to find the screen containing the old
partitioner. Then, when you're there, you realize that you can really do
everything from this one screen.
Partitioning the partitioner is necessary to reduce clutter, yes. However, the
project should be moving in the direction of graphically depicting the hard
disk, not showing a ton of extraneous info in text. If acronis, parted, etc are
able to get partitioning right, opensuse should be taking a page from their
books, rather than from fdisk.
