[Bug 421593] Alpine update fails randomly, deletes messages in inbox, inbox restarts core dumps

That is there is a lock file in /var/spool/mail/username.lock. The only way to make alpine come back to life is to remove the /var/spool/mail/username.lock. Once this file is removed alpine works. The original alpine shipped with opensuse 11.0 would override the lock file and work. The patched version does not. It seem it is really a pain to use the latest version.
