Smells like xorg-x11-driver-video-7.3-138.5.i586.rpm, which supposed to bring reasonable performance back. Feel free to use to use
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
in 'Section "Devices"' of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf, which was our temporary default for about 2 weeks (until we need to give up finally and went back to XAA), but I'm afraid it won't help.
There is nog Section "Devices" in my xorg.conf. So I assumed you meant Section "Device". But when I added it there (like below), X wouldn't start anymore. Section "Device" BoardName "945G" BusID "0:2:0" Driver "intel" Identifier "Device[0]" Screen 0 VendorName "Intel" AccelMethod "EXA" EndSection /var/log/SaX.log says: 15-Aug 08:57:05 <I> Checksum of installed configuration is invalid ! Parse error on line 138 of section Device in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf "AccelMethod" is not a valid keyword in this section.
