If anybody finds out what exactly happens to the Windows partition and whether
there is a way of fixing it I'd be thankful. For the first time ever this alpha
killed my Windows partition. :-(
I had broken grub configurations before, but never before the actual partitions
were damaged.
Details on my setup:
x86_64
/dev/hda1: Windows XP (ntfs):
dmesg output when trying to mount:
NTFS-fs warning (device hda1): is_boot_sector_ntfs(): Invalid boot sector
checksum.
NTFS-fs error (device hda1): read_ntfs_boot_sector(): Primary boot sector is
invalid.
NTFS-fs error (device hda1): read_ntfs_boot_sector(): Mount option
errors=recover not used. Aborting without trying to recover.
NTFS-fs error (device hda1): ntfs_fill_super(): Not an NTFS volume.
/dev/hda2: swap
/dev/hda5: openSUSE 11.1 Alpha1/Factory (still trying to get it to boot again
with the SLED grub)
/dev/hda7: SLED 10 (was able to recover that one, using the grub from SLED)
