hi folks.
just had this issue a few minutes ago.
for no apparent reason, miro stopped outputing sound.
i tried playing a video file in totem, and it crashed with an empty dialog box
appearing.
incidentally mplayer works fine with the same file.
i am running compiz, but it was no problem until a few minutes ago.
i tried restarting the daemon manually "pulseaudio -D" but still got no sound
either from miro or totem (crash) or banshee.
i then updated to pulseaudio-0.9.11-0.pm.2, and now i can't even start the
daemon.
Jul 31 21:28:09 laptop-2 pulseaudio[3865]: main.c: Module load failed.
utilisateur@laptop-2:~/Desktop> pulseaudio -D
W: main.c: High-priority scheduling enabled in configuration but not allowed by
policy.
W: core-util.c: setpriority(): Permission non accordée
E: main.c: Daemon startup failed.
however, mplayer still gives sound.
if there's any more specific info you need, i can attach it later on
