For Intel 965 IGP users like me, if possible, enable EXA only if Compiz is not used.
Not possible. EXA is enabled during configuration. compiz is enabled on-the-fly.
Also please try to provide the latest Intel driver as a experimental driver, in different name, at-least via Build Service, so that advanced users like me can easily update to it at the same time, if that latest driver isn't stable users would be able to switch to old stable driver, Fedora also did the same with their experimental Intel driver.

Regarding Intel_Batch, we don't need to worry about it as compiz exports that variable by default upon start up. Basically it is not any ubuntu specific stuff, it is driver related option.
