https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=406855 Summary: rpm not crashsafe during update Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andi-nbz@firstfloor.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I updated a x86_64 system from 10.3 to 11.0. It hard hung while installing the new kernel rpm (not pingable, mouse hung, no console switch) I eventually power cycled and restarted the update Anyways during the new update rpm eventually failed while installed some package: (typed down) RPM failed: error: db4 error(-30987) from dbcursor... error: (error ...) getting "7.0.5000.0" from Provideversion index .. DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND: Requested page not from ... getting "8.0.0.0" records from Provideversion index I recovered this eventually with a manual rpm --recoverdb, but normally rpm database updates are supposed to be crash safe and they don't seem to be during the update. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
