None of your suggestions worked but I'm not sure if I tested them properly.
What I've done:
sax2 -r
then saved _without_ testing so I've got config for radeonhd
Then I added option to xorg.conf and started:
sax2
clicked ok and then Test button in a hope that my own xorg.conf will get used.
Also, I've tried rebooting with readonhd in my xorg.conf but then my computer
always freezes at boot time.
Meanwhile: Could you instruct me how to get framebuffer working with my native
screen resolution? I'm little bit lost with the whole issue.
PS. When I start openSUSE in safe mode then my screen resolution is 1280x1024.
I've always expected safe mode to be limited in functionality.
