I found a fix for the bug. It seems the function keys are working and sending
the correct codes when pressed, however the mixer (in my case kmix), doesn't
have the scancodes associated with any shortcuts.
If I go and bind the appropriate key with the Mute/VolUp/VolDwn shortcuts for
kmix, everything is as it should be. So everything is working under the hood,
but the user still has to set this up manually.
