That's the wrong attitude my friend ;)
One problem indeed is, that the l10n teams have to cover the whole field of
different configurations, from dns servers over firewall to user management and
updating service...
As we're not masters of all those fields, we sometimes have to rely on the
meaning that stands behind an English string, even though we don't actually
know the in-depth details, this way is a bit sad actually, but we've no other
choice (however you're free to join and help* ;) ) [of course we try to get
behind the meaning of something, mostly freenode.net is our source of
knowledge]
And of course there's always a small glitch between so called "power-users"
which are turned off by a too simple German translation and the "new-users"
which should be spoonfeed. Actually I think that the above text is more or less
understandable if you know a bit of package managing [not everyone, especially
new ones are familiar with that - I'm aware of that too of course ;) ]
* it would already be much help if you could suggest a different translation
suggestion ;)
P.S.: I (speaking for the volunteer German l10n team) have no intentions to
"WONTFIX" all bug that are assigned to us, in fact this is the first one that I
remember (and, in my defense: I think it's up to the programmer of the updater
to make it more user friendly, i.e. changing the string to something more
simple or showing an additional help...)
So please don't turn your back on us, we all work hard to improve openSUSE, but
we all do it in our spare time(and much to often, that's almost in the middle
of the night)
