https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=371041 Summary: libXau.la has been removed (Xorg 7.3) but there are devel RPMs that contain .la files that reference it. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: alvinbeach@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: pth@novell.com Found By: Other With the Xorg 7.3 version of libXau-devel (xorg-X11-libXau-7.3-13.5) no longer includes the file /usr/lib/libXau.la. However, there are development libraries that include .la files that make specific reference to this file. The devel rpms that effect me are the SDL and SDL addon libraries found in the suse-oss and openSUSE 10.3 update repos. Here are the results of grep'ing /usr/lib on one of my development machines: /usr/lib> grep --files-with-matches libXau.la *.la libaa.la libglut.la libSDL_gfx.la libSDL_image.la libSDL.la libSDL_mixer.la libSDL_net.la libSDL_ttf.la libxrx.la libxrxnest.la This shouldn't be considered a complete list as on another development machine that has more devel rpms installed, I get about 55 matches. The workaround is to go into each one and change "/usr/lib/libXau.la" to "-lXau". However, this is temporarily as it will likely be reverted when a new RPM is made available.
