https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353540 Summary: Stuck at 10.2 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rdb@rdbnetsolutions.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I have been using opensuse/suse for a long time. I have had issues with 10.3 since it has come out. I have had acpi issues that I have been able to get around. I have both 10.2 and 10.3 on my system. I go back and forth. There are features on 10.3 that I really like. The problem that I keep running into is that the disk performance I receive on 10.3 is half the speed I get on 10.2. I have reinstalled countless times to no avail. I can't track down the issue. Here is the hardware I have. DFI Infinity 975 XG Core 2 6600 4 GIG ATI Radeon X1900 XT Adaptec 3405 Raid with 4 seagate 320 gig drives in a raid 5. I have tried and tried to stay at 10.3 but now back at 10.2. The partitions the data is on are used by 10.2 and 10.3. Both bootable OS's are able to use the data. I am really stuck on this. This is what I use for booting 10.3. I have to have the notsc because of vmware. The CPUFREQ=no is because the OS wil lockup otherwise. kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22.13-0.3-default root=/dev/sdb2 vga=0x317 resume=/dev/sdb1 splash=silent showopts CPUFREQ=no notsc Thanks for any ideas -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
