As I mentioned in comment #1 I forwarded this suggestion as Bug #350558 was
closed as wontfix as well.
The people at OpenOffice ( see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332190
) seem to reject the thought that there should be a means of tweaking the
locale in their product as well.
While I now have found a way to get what I want, I must insist that this is
_absolutely_not_ user friendly.
So whether you add the feature to YaST or OpenOffice takes care of it is really
irrelevant, but somebody should really help the average user out of this
catch22.
Not sure how you communicate with upstream and/or other distros. But this issue
should surely be addressed in some common discussion.
