https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=350421 Summary: ntfs kernel module busy wait Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: a23d56@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/temp with the default "rw" option, where sda3 is an NTFS windows 2003 server partition causes the system to go 99% busy wait. There is no way to escape, reboot does not repsond. You have to hit the reset button! Mounting read-only works. I am talking abount the NTFS kernel moudule, not the fuse version. If it's not supposed to work in read-write mode, then why allow a mount with the default rw option to lock up the system?
