https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=347184 Summary: System lockup on hotswap of SATA drive - Asus A8n-E motherboard Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: richardrosa@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other When I attach a SATA drive to this system, I can mount and use the drive OK. However, when I unmount the drive, then remove it, the system locks. No keypresses, mouse strokes or magic words fix this. Only a power off can be done, which usually results in some desktop settings being lost. I've installed both the 64bit and 32bit versions with the same results. This system was upgraded from 10.2, which did not exhibit this behavior. I have reverted back to 10.2 until this problem is fixed. Hardware is an Asus A8n-E motherboard, AMD 2.2ghz 64x2 (Athlon 64), 2gb ECC ram, Asus EN7300GS display card, Western Digital SATA drives (The hot swap drives are usually 250gb).
