Oh, sorry. You're using the 64 bit Java and kernel-bigsmp is available for 32b.
The 64bit version doesn't make any sense :-)
Thus I cannot test it because I don't have you application. There's a test,
which allocate the memory. I've run it on our test machine with 3,5GB of
psychical RAM and OOM killer kills them on memory used: 5585052672 (approx
5,5GB). I've used the same command as jboss4
java -Xms220m -Xmx5512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:NewSize=32m BigMemTest
There's only one difference, because I've tested it on JVM 1.5.0 from IBM,
because the machine runs on SLES10.
