The old UI had a bug with input fields: They were always horizontally
stretchable.
While it is sometimes desirable to have input fields hstrechable, this is not
always the case. Sometimes it is desirable to have a reasonable default size
for input fields rather than have them stretch as wide as the dialog will
allow.
In your example, it would be desirable to have the URL fields become wider
because their content might sometimes be pretty long. User name and password
OTOH won't get so long, so typically those kinds of fields should get a
reasonable default width. In this particular example, of course, you want to
make them as wide as the other fields.
When I fixed that bug to behave according to specification I saw that of course
now it behaves differently. So at some places we might have to change
`TextEntry(`id(`myId), "Label" )
to
`TextEntry(`opt(`hstretch), `id(`myId), "Label" )
(or use the new name `InputField).
Adding horizontal stretchability this way is possible. Removing it (in the old
UI) OTOH was not possible.
The question is now: Do we want to restore the old behaviour that was buggy
(and could not be changed to behave the other way) or do we want it fixed and
behave according to spec (and enable both possibilities) and maybe change some
existing YCP code?
