Well, it just loads a kernel module and updates the microcode. So it's nothing
"bad". However, can you please try to do following steps manually after SUSE
has booted:
1. Login as root.
2. Execute "modprobe microcode"
3. Report the output of "dmesg |tail -5"
4. Execute "/sbin/microcode_ctl -u"
5. Report the output.
Please report where it crashes. Can you attach a serial console for an oops
messsage? If it's a laptop -- has it Firewire and do you have a 2nd computer
with Firewire and Linux (with that method, it's also possible to retrieve the
oops message)?
Another possibility to get more information might be kdump.
