https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=337315#c286433 Summary: RealPlayer10 Plug-in Not Working In Mozilla FireFox 2.0.0.8-1.1 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jimomura@pathcom.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer This is a repeat of my last message for Bug #286433, which is the same problem but reported as a FireFox problem. The short comment is 32-bit plug-ins are not being supported by 64-bit FireFox. In the earlier Bug, we closed it as "WONTFIX" because the best solution really needs to be a fairly major change to FireFox (to make it handle both 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins). However, it might be possible to get the RealPlayer10 plug-in working with "re-packaging": The current FireFox version that I am using is "2.0.0.8-1.1". The current version of RealPlayer10 is "10.0.9-2.1" RealPlayer has never worked since FireFox went to 64-bit. I have not had a chance to test it properly though, until now, so I did not report it previously. The free-standing "RealPlayer 10" does run. It is only the Mozilla plug-in that is not functioning. With the current versions, today, I tried completely removing "RealPlayer" and re-installing it (after re-booting to clear anything from memory). That did not help. I also removed the OpenSuSE supplied "RealPlayer" and downloaded "RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" from "real.com" and that does not work any better. It is possible to run files from my hard drive. It is also possible to run an address from the internet directly in the RealPlayer program, but the FireFox will not pass an address through the plug-in. So right now, the only plug-ins that I can confirm are working in 64-bit are java and gnash. Flash and RealPlayer definitely do not work. The rest, I do not know yet. Actually, I cannot think of any others that I really use anyway. PS: Aside from this report, I probably will not be much help debugging this because I will not be using my Linux computer much from now until I upgrade to 10.3, and at that point, I will have to see what is working from scratch. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
