Created an attachment (id=176681) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=176681) [details] Changed HD names (hdxx to sdxx) cause problems for GRUB
Simple problem with a simple fix.
your problem seems to be completely different to my issues. for me, the grub menue doesn't get loaded at all, grub stalles even before that stage. I tried "grub-install" again from rescue system (see Bug 331811) like this + /usr/sbin/grub-install.unsupported --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sda Installation finished. No error reported. This is the contents of the device map /mnt/boot/grub/device.map. Check if this is correct or not. If any of the lines is incorrect, fix it and re-run the script `grub-install'. (hd0) /dev/sda but now I get ---------------------------------------------- GRUB Loading stage1.5. Loading stage 2... ---------------------------------------------- and that's it -- system freezes again :-( so I'm again installing the grub from my 10.2 partition, that one works fine and can book my 10.3 partition too (obviously;). any ideas ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
