https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331536 Summary: iwl3945 - wireless problem. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rabsmith@supernerd.com.au QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Probably related to BUGS 308895, 308830. System Lenovo Thinkpad R60e with PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection. Wireless worked great with 10.2, at upgrade to 10.3 wireless light on TP came on but no connection, Knetwork hung at 28%, even though PyWireless can see the network. Deleted card in Yast (well at least de-configured it) and added 'new' card with same driver, iwl 3945, All the details in yast were the same except the description which was 'PRO/wireless 3945ABG' for un-configured card and 'Wireless Network Card' for new one. New card worked after reboot, but would not activate the wireless connection light below the screen on the TP, even though wireless connected and stayed connected for hours. I appreciate that I do have a wireless connection, so why am I sending this. There is definitely a problem with the setup, it works, but no wireless indicator light. I tried the original set up, ie the Yast detected card with ipw3945, but that didn't work either. Checking the hardware of the 'two' cards they are identical except for the name, and the fact that if the wireless light comes on the connection doesn't work, if it stays off the connection works. Reboot is needed when changing these cards over in Yast in order to fix problem, so maybe something which is loaded at boot is killing the wireless connection if it activates the wireless light. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
