--- Comment #3 from Matthias Koenig 2007-09-12 04:17:12 MST ---
Searching for the magic "Promi" with
# sigfind 50726f6d /dev/hda
found the metadata at sector 268435377.
The disk size in sectors is
# blockdev --getsize
488397168
After adding the value to the list of metadata offsets for the pdc handler,
dmraid is able to detect the raid...so far so good.
*But*, this really seems to be a size issue. When looking at the metadata in
native format:
# dmraid -f pdc -n /dev/hda
..
0x214 raid.disk_secs: 268435377
..
0x224 raid.total_secs: 267578125
..
Which is what appears after activating the raid:
# blockdev --getsize /dev/mapper/pdc_geccffbcc
267578125
So the metadata that has been written to disk by the BIOS setup tool has
assumed that the total disk size is 268435377 sectors. From the setup tools's
POV the metadata *is* in the last sector. The raid card seems to have a ~128
GiB limit.
