https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=304905 Summary: Dyn DNS Zones occasionally get mis-formatted when using LDAP Backend Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mgpeter@pcc-services.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- On a few servers running SLES10 SP1, I have found that occasionally the dynamically created zones in /var/lib/named/dyn/ sometimes get mis-formatted, with the result of named not being able to answer any local queries. When this happens, the syslog has errors such as: Aug 27 10:36:53 server1 named[10637]: dyn/scotus.esu7.org:141: unknown RR type 'days' Aug 27 10:36:53 server1 named[10637]: zone scotus.esu7.org/IN: loading master file dyn/scotus.esu7.org: unknown class/type Stopping the named service and removing the /var/lib/named/dyn/zonename file and restarting named fixes the problem. Note that I only found this problem on servers using LDAP Support with Bind (although most servers I setup use LDAP Bind Support). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
