I tried booting to level 3; boot parameter "level 3" does not work, it would
still boot to level 5. I could only move the mouse pointer in the lower right
quadrant.
I was able to use the keyboard to get to a terminal; then "init 3" to CLI.
"sax2" also came up split screen and I was unable to navigate to the window
with the x&y coordinate config.
I'm at an impasse.
What parameter do you type on the boot line to get the liveCD to boot to level
3? Am I missing something?

"What's the native resolution of the display?"
Knoppix brings it up automatically as RV350, ATI 9600 M10, monitor @ 1024x768
in a single screen.
Specs:
LCD: 17" WXGA TFT LCD
Display:
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 M11
128-bit 2D/3D accelerator
128DDR SGRAM
Ultra AGP 8X
Dual-View Display Monitor <--maybe this is the cause; however, no other Linux
LiveCd has ever picked this up before including all of the SuSE LiveDVDs since
about 9.1.
