confirmed with a fully patched 10.2.
i'm not sure gnome specific, though - 'scrollkeeper-update -q' also segfaults.

situation is made worse as some packages perform this upon
installation/removal, thus possibly breaking this process (i had a package
failing to deinstall first time, probably because of this error).

a probably useless backtrace (with scrollkeeper-debuginfo installed) :
