https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=300331 Summary: ALT-<letter> keys in xterm Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: nadvornik@novell.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com CC: kmachalkova@novell.com Found By: --- I have found that xterm with the new default setting gives quite strange key codes, for example 1b c3 a3 for ALT-C c3 a3 seems to be result of ('c' | 0x80) converted to utf-8 xterm manual page mentions setting of the highest bit, but it it does not say anything about the conversion.
From the 0x1b character at the beginning I'd say that this is supposed to be a control sequence, thus it should not depend on locale.
Midnight commander and yast2-ncurses seems to have a problem with it. I don't know about any other console application which uses ALT-<letter> hotkeys. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
